Brotherhood: George and Jonathan and the Way of Dragons
Brotherhood: George and Jonathan and the Way of Dragons
George Jackson was considered the most powerful prisoner in 1970. Sentenced 1 year to life for robbing a gas station for $72 in 1960 he ended up serving 11 years, 7 in solitary confinement. He was denied parole 8 times. George had 3 choices, give up, give in, or give it your all. He chose the latter. George and his closest friend W.L Nolan, a boxing champion and member of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, decided to build an army behind prison walls that would fight for the liberation of Afrikan people. George built a bond with brothers from his first gang the Wolf Pack at age 12, to being a Field Marshall in the Black Panther Party, to founder of the Black Guerrilla Family. Take notes and move through this at your own pace. You will find 3 parts. Part 1: A timeline of events placing George Jackson within the appropriate context of the history of our people. Part 2: How to build a serious brotherhood like George and Jonathan. Part 3: 5+ Activities to teach young people about George Jackson. Booklists, documentary suggestions, rare Images and names of events you never heard of, quotes and codes for manhood can all be found in this presentation. This is lots of content you can teach and build from.
