Nat Turner, like so many of our greats, is often not taught and when he has been shown in movies or books it is not historically accurate. The most famous book, William Styron's was trash. This presentation was compiled through the reading of 10+ history books on Nat Turner, going on the tour in Southhampton County, Virginia with Baba H. Khalifah Khalifah (Author of Acquisition and Proper Use of Power: The Destruction of White Supremacy, The Original Confessions of Nat Turner Taken and Edited by Thomas Grey with Commentary, and The Nat Turner Quiz book) and meeting and talking with Nat Turner's descendants.

With the spread of misinformation, political pandering and vapid symbolism, how and where can we show our children a clear path of understanding to their true relationship to culture and the global politic?
