Black Parent Support Group

The Black Parent Support Group (BPSG) creates a safe, supportive place for Black parents and guardians to voice concerns and/or offer suggestions to make decisions on socialization of Black children. Monthly meetings feature guest speakers and special topics to help everyone stay engaged with and informed of events affecting our children and families.

Virtual Meetings are the first Monday of the month from 8-9:30pm.

Black Teacher Support Group

Studies found that students of all racial backgrounds prefer Black teachers. Black educators are better able to manage their classrooms and are more effective at empowering students and teaching them to excel. And yet, Black teachers have left schools because of systemic racism and a lack of appreciation and basic professional respect from their white administrators and coworkers. Many other Black teachers burned out from poor working conditions. Still others, lacking the familial assets and generational economic privilege of white teachers, learned they couldn’t support their families on a teacher’s meager starting salary.

The Black Teacher Support Group (BTSG) creates space for Black teachers to engage in deep self-care and strategize with other Black teachers to survive in this education system. Monthly meetings feature guest speakers and special topics relevant to Black educators (from preschool to college).

Virtual Meetings are the last Wednesday of the month from 7-8:30pm.
