Afrikan people come from a great lineage of warriors. Very few movies show our great warriors like Thutmosis III, Ramses II, Empress Taytu and Menelik II, Hannibal Barca, Queen Aahotep, Queen Nzingha, Nanny of the Maroons, Antonio Maceo, Queen Amina, and many more. This class will introduce the students to these warriors and war tribes of Afrika.

  1. The class will include a daily Afrikan proverb and lots of exercises. There will be no sitting. Before your child goes to school this class will give them the exercise they need to get the blood flowing for a day that may require a lot of sitting later on.

  2. Students will learn situational awareness so they can take an active role in their family and personal safety.

  3. Students will expand their understanding of conflict management and verbal de-escalation. They will be given a series of real-life scenarios that they must resolve. Bullies beware. This course will teach children how to not let what bullies do and say affect them and to build an alliance of friends who stand together against bullying

  4. Every class will include what is called Martial Arts here but since our combat systems came long before the Romans and the name Martial Arts is named after their god of war, Mars and we don’t honor the enemies of Afrika we just study them, we are learning Afrikan Combat skills that include punching and kicking combinations, head butting, elbows and knee strikes and grappling. Our ancestors practiced the great fighting styles of Engolo, Kandeka, Sanguar, Kokawa, Laam, Dambe, the Biafran art of Mgba and much more.

  5. Students will hear a series of Afrikan Stories mixed in with their exercises. They will hear about the great warrior tribes of the Zulu, Imbangala, Azande, Mandinka, Coromantee and many others. They will learn the mythology behind some of the greatest legendary Afrikan warriors and the history of the most courageous Afrikans to walk the planet like Hannibal Barca, General Nat Turner, Dandara Dos Palamares, Queen Nzingha, and Nanny of the Maroons just to name a few.

  6. Students will begin and end with stretching for flexibility and blood flow. Movement is life. Movement is medicine.
